Dexter was cranky and not sleeping one night and I was running through all the children's songs that I could remember and I started singing "Jesus Loves Me." I'm slightly ashamed to say that I had to think about how it went and that when I got to the phrase "Little ones to Him belong" and realized the next line, I had a mini meltdown. However, that line has been my anthem for the past week and I hope to remember it as we face surgery in 2 days. "They are weak, but He is strong." This rings so true when I look at my 3 month old child and see how tiny and fragile he is and then to think he has so much to go through in a few days. But then I also think that this holds true for myself and that I technically am a "little one." I am weak, tired, and torn up. My husband and I can't shoulder this burden ourselves, we need to rely on someone much stronger than ourselves. It's been tough to rely on God the past couple of months. My prayer while pregnant was that our little one would not have to go through any of this, that he would be completely healthy. He has his health and I am thankful for that, but I think I also felt let down by God in that He made us go through this. I know there is a purpose to everything and I know something amazing will come from all of this, but it's been a rough road to come to terms with that. So through all of this our motto is "We are weak, but Lord you are strong!"
Two more days until surgery. We go in tomorrow for his pre-op appointment. We would appreciate continued prayers. His surgery process starts at 5:45 and he should be going in for surgery at 7:30am on Thursday. We would definitely appreciate prayer at those times! Also, thank you to everyone who has donated! We have enough for our hotel stay and for food and gas! You all have been so generous and we appreciate it so much!
We will try to keep this page updated and keep you all posted as things progress. Thank you for your support and prayers!
